WhatsApp Coexistence is Meta’s official capability that lets one WhatsApp Business number work in the WhatsApp Business App and on the WhatsApp Business Platform at the same time. You keep replying from your phone, and your team replies from a shared inbox, on the same number, without migrating or losing the number.
Before Coexistence, moving to the WhatsApp Business API meant a hard choice: keep the app, or upgrade and lose both your number on the phone and your history. Coexistence removes that trade-off.

Yes. Your number keeps its calls on the phone app, and your team can take inbound WhatsApp calls and make outbound calls from the shared inbox on the same number. On the AI Complete plan, an AI receptionist can answer those calls in five languages and transfer live to your team with a summary of the call.
Connecting takes about five minutes through Meta’s secure Embedded Signup, with no developer needed. You start the connection in Omni Chat Stack, confirm it from the WhatsApp Business App on your phone, and your last six months of one-to-one chats sync in.
